Who can access a MHH?

MHH is available to anyone aged 12 years and over. It's here for you to connect you to a psychologist. We assist you with connection and provide the space. Let's face it - telehealth is an amazing way to connect with a clinician however having the space to do the work isn't always an option. The MHH team assist your connection and guide you through the registration process. The choices are all yours. If you have Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) provided by your General Practitioner (GP) your sessions will be subsidised by Medicare. If you chose a psychologist who bulk bills, your sessions will have no out of pocket costs. I KNOW - AMAZING. If you are supported by NDIS, TAC or Workcover the billing fee's will be different to that of Medicare. What kind of mental health professional will I be seeing?

Psychologists. Our clincians are APHRA, Medicare, NDIS, TAC and Workcover registered.

I don't have a video link account

You don't need to have an video account, your session link will be sent to your email where you sign into your account on the day of your session in the green room - the space for you to do the work. Our psychologists use secure online video conferencing platforms so know that whilst you are in your session everything is secure.

Are the psychologists registered?

Just like face-to-face psychologists, our registered Psychologists and Clinical Psychologists are registered the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and individually sourced and supported by the service provider. Whilst clinicians are registered and we do our best to support you in making your decision on sign up having the right clinician is important. Working with the right clinician is super important, so making sure your clinician is the right fit to do the work is essential. If you feel you have given it a good go, and it's not the right fit. Talk to us, we'll explore options and other clinicians with you until you find the one that you click with.

What is a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP)?

A Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) is a support plan written by a GP and it is available to anyone who feels they would benefit from psychological support for mental health concerns. A MHCP is usually accompanied by a referral from your GP to see a psychologist.

With a MHCP you can now access up to 20 Medicare-subsidised or bulk billed psychology sessions per calendar year (increased from 10 sessions as of the 9th October 2020). After your sixth session, your psychologist will require a MHCP review from your GP, so you can access your additional 4 sessions. There are another 10 psychology sessions subsidised or bulk billed under a COVID plan. These changes are in place until November 2021 for telehealth psychology, with the possibility of being extended for telehealth - We're crossing everything as we know telehealth connection to professional supports has so many benefits.

What is a MHH available Australia wide?

Not yet. But we're working on it. We're proud to collaborate with other social changemakers Romsey Neighbourhood House. What do I need to bring or know about on the day of my session?

There are a few things you can do to prepare you and settle into the space before your session. Arrive 15 minutes before your session which enables: Settle in to the safe, secure space ready for you to begin your session. Hook up and log in to your email to commence your session. Payment processing of your clinician session fee. This is done at the end of your session with your clinician.

What are the session fees?

All session fees under a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) are subsidised. Your session fees are processed on the day of your session with the clinician. If you have chosen a clinician who Bulk Bills there will be no out of pocket fees. A GAP fee will apply if you have chosen a clinician who charges more than the medicare rebate for service ($88.25) If you are wanting to use MHH Romsey as a NDIS, TAC, DVA or Workcover client connect with us before you book a session.

How do I make a booking?

All of our bookings can be made online. Head over to our bookings page to book in your session. Access to the Telehealth Clinician is only granted once you've been onboard by your MHH Host, so you won't be able to access those services until you're approved to do so.


Book a double session in with your GP, let the clinic admin team know it's to get a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP).

Talk to your GP about your mental health, how you are feeling, where you feel there are patterns that are not supporting your best life. It may be stress, it may be relationships, it may be burnout - ANYTHING - share it with your GP.   They want to see you well. 

During your consultation you may complete a quick and simple checklist to measure your general wellbeing - The most common is called a K10. This is to support your MHCP - think of it as a way to measure your progress, you are getting a snapshot of the "now".

Here is informtion and detail required for the letter of referral from your GP.

Your GP can email your MHCP, K10 and Referral Letter directly to us. Just give them your consent to share and have them note it in the email - Here is the EMAIL link.

So our first meet and greet of half an hour is an opportunity to explore the GreenRoom space and guide you through the registration process by connecting you to your Telehealth clinician.   They may be in Victoria, NSW, Dubbo or Perth.

At the end of our meet and greet we want you to walk away with:

  • An understanding of the service

  • A time to come back and connect for your telehealth session.


A copy of your Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) from your GP.

An email address - this is where your secure session link will be shared to.  If you don't have one that's okay.  We can create an account with you on the day of your sign up.
